Hello,

I have a few questions in regards to Semblio.  I was mildly involved in the CTP of Grava and now Grava seems to be closed and it points to Semblio.  I really liked the player and editor, but I don't see those tools supplied on the site.

1.  What are the plans for the toolset, such as when will it be released, what will it cost?

2.  Will Simblio be SCORM compliant?

3.  Some other posts mention using the player.  Is the player available with the SDK?

4.  Will this be available to everyone, not just K-12 education?  One thing that I mentioned in the CTP was that schools are not the only places that do training.  Many, many business have tests that must be passed before they are qualified to run machines, access certain systems, complete safety training or maybe even complete surveys.  I definitely do not think that such a powerful tool such as Grava/Semblio should be limited to K-12 education.

Thank you,

Eric

Hi Eric-

Thanks for the questions.

1.     As you know the Semblio SDK has been released and is available at the Microsoft Download Site.  The assembly too and player are still in development and we're working towards having a beta version available at the end of this calendar year.

2.     Given where we are with the Semblio tools our support for standards are still being worked through; currently we will support IMS Common Cartridge as well as IMS QTI.

3.     The SDK does allow you to build a basic or customized player for playback of the content created using the .NET Framework and the Semblio SDK.

4.     Semblio will be available to anyone, there are no restrictions to using Semblio just in the education space.  We do believe that Semblio is a relevant tool for producing interactive training lesson, regardless of industry.

Thanks,
