Announcing important news about the Outlook Live R4 upgrade timeline, service updates and new features coming soon to Live@edu. You'll begin to see these updates in early December 2009.
Important news about Outlook Live R4 Upgrade We've extended the required date for the R4-specific versions of PowerShell and Outlook Live Management Agent (OLMA) -- formerly known as Exchange Labs Management Agent (ELMA) -- for Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM) from January 29, 2010 to March 1, 2010.
Administrator accounts will be upgraded to R4 in early December; at which time you can begin testing the new version of these tools and also create new R4 mailboxes. If using Exchange Control Panel (ECP), any new mailboxes that you create will automatically be created on R4. If using PowerShell / OLMA to create mailboxes, please upgrade to new versions of these tools, otherwise mailboxes will be created on R3. Existing end user accounts on R3 will begin to migrate to R4 in December and should be completed by the end of March.

How do I know if I have been upgraded to R4?
•
Sign in to Outlook Web App and check the color scheme. It's blue in R3 and yellow in R4. The first administrator account (the one created during enrollment) is always upgraded first. After that, end users can verify their upgrade by the change to yellow in Outlook Web App. Administrators currently can't track what percentage of their users have been upgraded, but users can easily tell by the change in color.
•
Sign in to http://outlook.com/ecp with your administrator account. Do you see the new Administrator Roles tab? If so, you're on R4!
